홍익대학교 회화과와 동 대학원을 졸업하고, 2006년 첫 개인전을 시작으로 20차례의 개인전과 150회 이상의 국내외 그룹전에 꾸준히 참여하면서 탄탄하고 독자적인 조형언어를 구축해왔다. 2013년 겸재정선미술관 ‘내일의 작가’ 대상을 수상했고, 분다눈미술관(호주), 관두미술관(대만), 타이동미술관(대만)을 비롯하여 최근의 예술곶_산양(제주)에 이르기까지 다양한 국내외 레지던스에 참여하는 등 국제무대로 나아가며 전시를 활발하게 이어나가고 있다. 또한 국립현대미술관 미술은행, 겸재정선미술관 등 다수의 미술관 및 공공기관을 비롯하여 작품의 소장처가 넓어지고 있다. 전희경은 빛, 바람, 기후 등 유기적 자연 요소로부터 해체된 형태들과 색채의 흐름이 뒤섞인 세계를 이끌어내고 추상적 회화로 표현한다. 그는 회화가 그 자체로 하나의 완결된 작품인 동시에 물리적 공간에서 경험되는 회화 설치를 통해 여러 점의 회화가 연속하는 구조 사이에서 내러티브를 획득하는 방식을 생각한다.

Jeon Heekyoung earned her BFA and MFA in Painting from Hongik University. With 20 solo exhibitions since her debut in 2006 and over 150 group exhibitions worldwide, she has developed a robust and distinct language. In 2013, she was awarded the ‘Artist of Tomorrow Grand Prize’ by the Gyeomjae Jeongseon Art Museum. She has exhibited and participated in residencies at renowned institutions such as the Bundanon Art Museum in Australia, the Guandu Museum of Fine Art, and the Taitung Art Museum in Taiwan, as well as recently at Art Lab Sanyang in Korea. Numerous art institutions and public agencies have added her works to their collection, including the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art and the Gyeonggi Museum of Modern Art. Jeon abstractly expresses a world in painting where deconstructed forms and rhythmic colors intertwine with organic elements such as light, wind, and climate. For her, painting serves not only as a complete work in itself but also as a means to acquire narrative within the structure of a series of painting installations experienced in physical space.
